When the Concept virus invades your Mac, it will change Word documents into Word Templates, and include itself in each of those templates, thus spreading the infection. SAM will eradicate the virus. Template/Doc Autotyper will return the previously infected files back into Word documents.
This little application is for AFTER you run SAM. SAM will "cure" the infection by
removing the virus code from your machine and infected files. Unfortunately, one of the things this virus does is change any Word document you opened while it was virulent from a Word DOCUMENT to a Word TEMPLATE. SAM only removes the code that causes this to happen, it does not revert the Template back into a Document.
Enter Template/Doc Autotyper which will solve thisproblem. Every document that you opened with Word since the virus appeared, which includes anything you created, has been changed to a template. You can tell if it is a template rather than a document two ways:
1) It will say "Microsoft Word Template" in the "Kind" column in the list view of a folder;
2) Documents have a blue "W" as their file icon, Templates have a blue right facing arrow as their file icon. These can be seen if any view except a list view with the smallest icon is selected (this is controlled in the "Views" control panel).
3) Note that the Word Application also has a Big blue "W" as its file icon.
This is not to be confused with Word documents, which have the "W" inside a
rectangle. The Application is a "W" not in a rectangle (it is by itself in
the small icon view, or with a "wavy" piece of paper below it in the large
icon view.
Select the file you want to fix, and drag it onto the Autotyper icon and
release. The program will change the type and creator information included
with the file to match that of a Word Document. Do this for every Word
document that has been changed to a Template. Don't do this with anything
else (applications, Excel documents, or for that matter anything in the
Templates folder in the Word 6 folder. The templates in there are supposed
to be templates.
You can do this before you run SAM, but because the files (and Word) is
infected, the virus will just turn them right back into Templates.
